Tony Esler is led
in on a winner at Goodwood trained by Sir Mark Prescott, in
colours worn by 3 Derby winners. |
Tony Esler, the Director of Delta Bloodstock Management Ltd can
draw on a wealth of experience in racing gained over more than 35
years in the business.
Tony's experience in the Bloodstock Industry started in the late sixties
when, after leaving the Army, he went to Ireland to ride as an Amateur.
Starting off with Aubrey Brabazon, rider of the great COTTAGE RAKE,
he then became Stable Amateur to firstly Paddy Sleator followed by
a move to Newmarket and Sir Mark Prescott; both men long recognized
as masters of their craft. Throughout the 1970's as well as riding
some 30 winners on the flat, Tony worked as Assistant Trainer to firstly
Harvey Leader, then Jeremy Hindley, besides fitting in a Stud season
with the legendary Mme Couturie, breeder of Arc de Triomphe winner
RIGHT ROYAL, at Haras du Mesnil.
During the 1980's Tony's career moved into Bloodstock shipping when
he ran the European Air Department of one of the leading companies
with overall responsibility for flying runners and breeding stock
throughout Europe.
In 1991 Tony started Delta Bloodstock Management principally to create
and manage select racehorse Partnerships for small groups of racing
enthusiasts. This soon developed however and DBM now buys for both
the flat and jumping markets here and overseas.
To keep 'hands on' and always in touch with the grass roots of our
Industry, Tony rides two lots daily for the very successful Michael
Jarvis, trainer of Prince of Wales & Champion Stakes victor RAKTI.
